Scuba Diving Discussion Boards

Scubaboard - from rec to tec with local dive groups as well as lots of international participants. Probably the largest member list of them all

TheDecoStop - my favorite board. Mostly technical diving and member list of full of experienced members.

TheScubaStop - sister board to TDS above, recreational orientation

Ontario Diving - started by the Northern Tech Diver folks and couple of local clubs in 2005. Affiliated with PReserve Our Wrecks and couple of SOS chapters. No aliases board - i.e. you have to register with your full name. Probably the best resource for Ontatio diving info.

Tried, tested and recommended dive stores and charters. Toronto and Picton-Brockville corridor (Eastern Ontario)

Aquasub - my Local Dive Store. One of the few shops in Toronto with trimix availability & high pressure booster. They teach everything from beginner to full trimix.

Northern Tech Diver - charters in the Kingston area. Also a place to get your GUE class since Dan McKay is the only GUE instructor in Canada. My home away from home place

Ducks Dive - the only choice for Picton area. Sue and George are great!

1000 Islands Pleasure Diving - picks you up at Caigers, near Rockport. My charter of choice for diving Jodrey. Wayne Green is a great captain, the boats are fast and well built for tech gear and cookies and hot soups late/early in the season are to die for!

Various Research Sites

Milwaukee Public Library snip files - Great Resource! Snip files contain image and the listing of all articles about the vessel of your choice.

Walter Lewis's Marine History of the Great Lakes - newspaper transcriptions. Another great search tool and an amazing site!

Brendon Baillord's Great Lakes Shipwreck Research - a mother of all research sites. Lots of info and links.

Dave Swayze's shipwreck listings - the most complete database

Kingston's Marine Museum

Marine History of the Great Lakes - Historical Documents

History of the Great Lakes. Volume I. A transcription for the Maritime History of the Great Lakes site by Walter Lewis and Brendon Baillod

Toronto Passenger Steamers - Globe and Mail article 1986

Tried, tested and recommended charters - Lakes Erie, Huron, Superior, Michigan (Straits area)

Rec and Tec Dive charters - Gary Venet is an unbelievably good captain, Silvia Ann is a great boat for Great Lakes conditions. Gary covers the area from Port Sanilac to Harbor Beach and does both rec and tech

Abyss Divers - Captains Dan and Phil run a great charter business. They have several boats which are trailer-able, so they cover a wide area from Presque Isle in Huron to Whitefish Point in Lake Superior with the Straits of Mackinac in between. Highly recommended

Dawnlight liveaboard - Ray Davis is the captain and Cortney is the 1st mate - the best choice to dive Northwind with few of Fathoms Five wrecks on the way back. Ray also does charters to Gunilda and Judge Hart

Osprey Dive Charters - Jim Herbert is the charter captain of choice for any technical diving in Eastern lake Erie

Craig Workman's Lake Erie Marine Services - huge tug boat. Have not been on it for couple years but used to be quite good

Personal photo and other sites

Ontario Scuba Diving - my buddy Marvintpa AKA Tom Wilson. He tought me how to take pics, so his site is as good or better than mine - plus I am a model in most of his pics

WreckWriter's books - Captain Tom Scott has some really good books about Florida's wrecks.
